Fairfax Underground [Apr. 21st, 2005|09:43 pm]
Fighting Fairfax
Fighting Fairfax? hahahah what an awesome community. I posted this to fairfax_county so I guess I'll cross-post it here too. Feel free to use the forums to bitch about whatever or ask any questions.

Hey guys don't mean to spam the community, but I want to tell you about a new website called Fairfax Underground.

Local forums and chat. As well as static features like pictures of funny things in the county and a public records ticket and arrest search. You can do things like type in your street name and see what kind of trouble your neighbors have been getting into.

Check it out and feel free to post whatever you want. You don't need an account to post but it makes things easier.

I can't be the only one completely pissed over this lame excuse for a chritmas break. We used to get close to 20 days and each year it gets smaller and smaller but this year is just rediculous!

oh reston....

do you live in virginia?
are you tired of comatose, apathetic suburbs?
are you awesome?

if you answered "yes" to one or more of these questions, please consider helping to get the northern virginia action group off the ground! so far, it's just an idea and a mailing list, but those involved are hoping that we can get the word out and make something happen. the group would focus on trying to increase the region's overall level of political awareness, not to mention getting people together and having fun. possible activities:

-tabling at area shows
-organizing benefit shows
-working with homeless shelters
-addressing gentrification
-publicizing bigger actions i.e. in dc
-mobilizing people to attend said actions (protests, rallies, etc.)
-book discussions

if you're interested, you can go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nova_action/ and join the list (this list was created about an hour ago, so don't let the current one-person membership turn you away). the no. va suburbs need a wake-up call, and, while we might not be able to completely revolutionize the way everyone lives their lives, we can at least make a difference.

so i'm leaving a lot of the communities i've joined now because i see no point in me being in them anymore.

and sadly [oh i'm sure you're ALL sad that i'm leaving] i will no longer be part of this glorious community. i don't hate fairfax county. i don't think it's boring at all. there are things to do all around here, it's just up to you if you want to go out and do them. blahblahblah, bitchbitchbitch, i'm leaving. i don't hate fairfax county, and i am not going to fight against it, so this community is just not for me, and i hope you all can respect that.

A lack of action [Aug. 17th, 2004|02:32 pm]
Fighting Fairfax
There is a serious lack of action in this community. Its as if you are lost sheep, bahhhing for change. If you guys are interested in change in this city, identify the problems as group, there is power in the numbers. And once this has been identify, then hit the streets, talk to anyone, everyone you know, recruit. And then form protests. People should not sit and be idle condemning their live to complaining. Rage, Rage against the dying of the night. Do not go gently into that goodnight.

On Wednesday, Aug. 4, at 9 a.m., Fairfax County will celebrate the groundbreaking for the renovation and expansion of the Jennings Judicial Building. Once complete, the renovated building will house all three courts: Circuit Court, General District Court, and the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court.

great, more fucking court buildings. as if they didnt screw over misunderstood people enough, they have to make sure they can try A RECORD BREAKING NUMBER OF PEOPLE AND DOOM THEM.

i doubt anyones cares, but just letting u know in case ur court date is waiting. u will not have to wait! o boy!
im moving first chance i get.

i heard brown is switching to a different school. AND GUESS WHAT! my friends and i were chilling at 7-11, and i was in the back and they were in the front of the store, and they saw coach brown go inside and buy three strawberry blunts, and apparently he offered to buy some kid cigarettes. odd. then i told my brother and he was like, i thought coach brown moved to some other state? i was like, oh man i hope he does.

i'm going to warped tour tomorrow btw!!!!!1111
